I have developed a lot of new skills through Diigo! I had never annotated an article on the computer before using this site, and it's been good to learn how to use the different applications included to emphasize important material. It has also helped me improve my interactions with my peers over a site like this. I have been able to read and respond to my peer's thoughts easier than on the Canvas discussion boards. Overall, it has helped me better prepare for other interactions online that I may have in an educational career.

PowerPoint can be used to address every part of Bloom's Taxonomy. For remembering and understanding, simply presenting the information in a PowerPoint could do the trick! Associating certain images or fonts with certain facts could help improve the students' retention and memory of the topics they go over. Understanding tends to come with remembering, but providing additional information and context in the PowerPoint can help promote it as well. Applying, analyzing, and evaluating can all be accomplished in PowerPoint through discussion questions. Following the presentation, including a slide full of questions based on the information the students just learned could be helpful in promoting more critical thinking and encourage them to apply the information they just learned to evaluate this new questions and respond with an analysis of the material. For creating, having students make the PowerPoint presentations themselves can be very helpful. I used to make PowerPoints for my study group in high school, and it was one of the quickest ways to help me understand the material because I had to be informed enough on the info to feel comfortable presenting it to a group of my peers. PowerPoint comes with many benefits to student learning and can be used in many versatile ways.

Teacher professional development through technology is highly important. Teachers integrate educational technology into their students' lives and routines, so they need to be educated on what's new in the field and how to utilize it. For example, students are accustomed to using social media at home, but there are ways for it to be a helpful tool in the classroom that they're unaware of. As teachers, we need to learn to master these sites and tools not only to teach the students how to use them, but also to utilize them for our own gain in the classroom. Teachers need to be able to use technology to interact with one another to share their perspectives and ideas.
I found a blog called Top Hat (https://tophat.com/blog/technology-in-education-2019/) that kicked off 2019 with an article on the educational technology trends to watch. Using a site like this and just seeing blog posts from other educators is a good way to stay up to date on the latest technology trends.
